A mosaic-style comedy that follows a woman’s life as she navigates a long-term casual BDSM relationship, a low-level corporate job, and a feuding Jewish family. Joanna Arnow’s real-life parents appear in the film. Anne’s parents.. I saw this movie at the New York Film Festival and it gave me goosebumps. So completely out there, sharp, honest and funny. I loved the visual style juxtaposed with the frankly sexual content – this felt like the female gaze at work. I have never seen a movie like this and really enjoyed it. It follows Anne (Joanna Arnow), a Brooklyn woman in an unfulfilling, long-term bdsm relationship (which bears a comical resemblance to her daytime identity as a low-level corporate drone) as she loses her family, friendships and "vanilla" Dating.You Deadpan humor & Appreciate subtle characters.
