The visual contrast between the darkness of Dexter’s secret life and the glitz of Miami adds an almost surreal quality. The character development is right on the money, bringing the background slowly so that we can see the growth of Dexter’s sociopathic personality and the confusion of his human behavior in relation to his behavior. Dexter is an actor in his own life; His peers and personal life are well shown in video media.
That he is a bloodletting expert
This is a dark work, but set in the absurd world of life in Miami is almost believable. Developers of this series should also look at the Andrew Wachs books.
