Plot
This documentary chronicles the lives of a group of young Egyptian girls from a very conservative small village in Upper Egypt who form an all-female acting troupe despite family rejection.. Excellent short and documentary by Nada Riyadh & Ayman El Amir; In a remote village in Southern Egypt or Upper Egypt, a group of girls rebel against their own families' strict traditions by forming an all-female theater company, but were mocked for it. The girls simply dreamed of becoming actresses, dancers and singers like so many Egyptians in Lower Egypt, challenging their own religious and conservative families with their unexpected performances. The short film was shot over four years to capture different periods of this girl’s life, The Brink of Dreams follows them from childhood to womanhood and as they face the most important choices of their lives.
